Arguably Derbyshire's most delicious culinary creation was in fact created completely by accident in the 19th century when Mrs Greaves, landlady of the White Horse Inn asked her cook to create a jam tart. Misreading the recipe, rather than incorporating the almond paste and jam into the pastry, Mrs Greaves' cook spread the mixture on top, creating the Bakewell Tart we all know and love today, and which has been brough to life in this sweet almond candle.
All of our candles are made using biodegradable, vegan friendly soy wax, manufactured in the UK from pure soybean oil. Unlike with paraffin wax candles, soy wax candles burn cleanly with no sooting, so our candles won't mark your walls or ceilings.

Why do you use wooden wicks?
We use wooden wicks in our candles because they are more sustainable than traditional cotton wicks, and burn with a delightful, subtle crackling sound.
