Things do to in the UK this autumn | Host your own Autumn Cream Tea
It is no exaggeration to say that Autumn in the UK is a wonder to behold. Nature comes alive for one last dance before winding down for the winter: trees and hedgerows become awash with shades of orange and gold, branches ladened with ripe fruits.
Characterised by shorter days and darker evenings, autumn is often perceived as an "in-between" period in the middle of summer and winter.
But as far as we're concerned, autumn is the most wonderful time of the year to experience the beauty of the British countryside. This year, we're determined to make the most of our favourite season in the UK by embracing seasonal produce and exploring new places... and of course, we'll be taking you along with us!
This week we've partnered with iconic British heritage brand Tiptree to bring you a seasonal twist on an English classic: Autumn Cream Tea.

1. Set the scene
The first step is to find the perfect location for your Autumn Cream Tea. Now, the obvious choice is probably your dining table- but we'd encourage you to get outside and make the most of the mild temperatures and soak up the early autumn sun while you still can!
Perhaps there's a sun trap in the corner of your garden, or a local community orchard that doesn't get used enough.
Pack a picnic hamper and make the most of the British countryside!
2. Lay the table
Once you've chosen the perfect spot, it's time to lay the table.
Now, remember what we said earlier- autumn is a beautiful season in its own right, not just a transitional period between summer and winter.
Bring the good crockery, the special plates, granny's teapot, a whole cake stand if you really want to! This year, we're making the most out of autumn and that starts with romanticising the everyday.
We chose a beautiful linen tablecloth, an ornate ceramic cake stand, and a vintage tea set we found in an antique cellar!
Traditionally, Cream Tea features a classic Strawberry Jam, but given that British autumn time is known for its abundant harvest, it feels apt to swap the bright summer berries for some richer autumnal flavours.
