The Kent - Cherry Blossom

Did you know? King Henry VIII ordered for Britain’s first cherry orchard to be planted in Teynham. Kent was chosen due to its fertile soil, which was perfect for growing fruit and hops. Today, Kent still produces 90% of the UK's cherries, with fruit farms across the county bursting into beautiful blossom every spring. Our favourite place for a picnic under the blossom trees? Brogdale Collections in Faverhsam is the home of the National Fruit Collection -  a living history and heritage of fruit.
