Spotlight on: Hertfordshire!

As many of you may, or may not know, our story started in Hertfordshire - so what better way to kick off our ‘Spotlight’ series than with Herts! Having recently moved to Tring, it was during one of our many walks along the canals that we got talking about the places we’d grown up and our “Home Counties”. With our roots now firmly embedded in Herts, here is our Spotlight on our very own Home County…

OUR 3 FAVOURITE THINGS TO DO IN HERTS:

  1. Walks - nothing seems to get our creative juices flowing like a long walk to blow away the cobwebs. We’re so lucky to be surrounded by such beautiful woodlands and hills - some of our favourite walks include Ashridge Estate, Verulamium Park and of course along the Grand Union Canal!

  2. Pubs - a long walk just isn’t complete without a stop at a watering hole is it?! We’ll often use our pitstops for brainstorming, and always make sure we’ve got our notepads on us for new ideas. Our favourite local pubs on the water include The Boat, Berkhamsted, The Grand Junction Arms, Tring and The Old Barge, Hertford.

  3. Shopping - we’re always on the hunt for cute homeware pieces with a difference, and Hertfordshire is thriving with amazing local independents. Our favourite spots include The Market House, Tring (of course!); Raindrops of Roses, St Albans; Berkhamsted and Hertford.

Our ‘The Hertfordshire’ candles & reed diffusers are beautifully scented with Woodland Bluebell and Jasmine, inspired by the abundance of beautiful bluebells on Ashridge Estate.

‘A rich floral accord of bluebells and hyacinth enhanced with notes of galbanum, rose and jasmine.’

If you’ve ever visited the astounding Ashridge Estate in the Spring you’ll understand exactly where our inspiration came from - according to the National Trust “Ashridge is one of the most popular places in the country for seeing bluebells, with thousands of people coming from far and wide to enjoy the spectacular carpets of flowers each spring.”
