Edinburgh + One Day
The Edinburgh & The Lothians Candle | One Day by David Nicholls
Many of us fell in love with Emma and Dexter during the Netflix adaptation, but it was first a romance novel written by David Nicholls.
The iconic British love story first begins in Edinburgh, 1988, when two students spend the night together. Nicholls follows these two characters for the next two decades, checking in with them every year on the 15th of July.
Pair with our Edinburgh & The Lothians candle- a wood smoke and wild moss fragrance inspired by the smoky city air of Auld Reekie itself.
Babel is a fictional novel set in a fantastical version of Oxford in the 1830s. Despite the magical and exciting plot, there can be no doubt as to the true message of this tale.
Through a carefully constructed alternate history, Kuang delivers a scathing critique of British imperialism, racism, and capitalism.
This pairing is especially apt because our Oxfordshire candle is a Green Tea & Bergamot scent inspired by the very Oxfordshire tea rooms Babel's characters frequent.
You need only The Oxfordshire candle to be transported to the city of dreaming spires...
The Yorkshire candle | Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
Set against the bleak landscape of the Yorkshire Moors, Wuthering Heights is a true masterpiece of gothic fiction. A poetic tale that depicts the passionate and destructive relationship between main characters Catherine and Heathcliff.
If they're a lover of classics they've likely already read Bronte, in which case you could find a really beautiful special edition instead!
Pair with The Yorkshire candle for a truly captivating gift that captures the wild spirit of Bronte's muse.
