Quick and easy, no-cook Summer BBQ Sides you can make in less than 10 minutes
Summer hosting season is finally here, and we're so ready for it.
Here are two of our favourite Summer BBQ Side Dishes that will seriously impress your guests, with very little prep time. Low effort, high reward!
Whether you need a summer sharing plate, a showstopping side, or just a simple light bite for one, these dishes should do the trick!
1. Pomegranate & Cucumber Hummus Flower
If you buy ready-made hummus, this requires very little preparation and is super quick to assemble!
If you do want to make your own, just chuck a can of chickpeas, 2 tbsp good quality olive oil, some spices (we like to use a dash each of paprika, cumin, and garlic!) and a squeeze of lemon juice in a food processor and blitz until smooth. If it’s thicker or chunkier than you’d like just add water, a tablespoon at a time, until you get the right consistency!
Slice up a cucumber (diagonally, to create long oval slices instead of circles) and display on a plate in a circular flower shape.
Add a spoonful of hummus to each slice and drag into the centre with the back of the spoon (this creates that lovely petal shape)
Using a cookie cutter for accuracy, add pomegranate seeds to the middle of your flower.
Top with a drizzle of olive oil, or the leftover juice from the pomegranate seeds!
2. Olive & Feta Chequerboard
This one really couldn’t be easier, but the result is super impactful and is sure to impress your guests!
Simply chop a block of feta into cubes and then alternate with your olives to make a chequerboard pattern. The one we’ve made here is pretty small, but you could make a much bigger version on a long platter for an eye-catching centrepiece.
