Whilst the Irish have been distilling drinkable spirits since Irish monks brought the technique of distilling perfumes back from their travels around 1000 AD, it was in 1608 that King James I granted a County Antrim landowner a licence to distil - a distillery that is still going strong today, producing some of the worlds most loved single malt whiskeys 'forged in the footsteps of giants'.
