As we move into our seventh year of making the very best candles to remind you and your loved ones of home, we thought it was time for something new.

Introducing... the SAME 100% natural soy wax, the SAME luxury fragrances inspired by your home county with BRAND NEW all-fibre cotton wicks for the perfect burn every time!

We have loved working with wooden wicks for the past seven years but they haven’t been without their problems. The vast majority of our wooden wicks burned beautifully but, after rigorous testing, we have come to accept that this has not been the case for every candle.

It is of paramount importance to us that every customer has the same experience and, as small business owners, we need to feel 100% confident that our product will deliver a positive experience every single time.

So, after much consideration, we made the decision that in 2025 Home County Co. would switch to high-quality and ethically-sourced cotton wicks.

How do we know that this is the right decision?

At the Home County Co. we pride ourselves on hand-pouring the finest quality candles to rekindle the memory of home. Alongside our own, we also pour bespoke candles for other luxury brands. Over the last twelve months, we have had the honour of pouring candles for Buckingham Palace, esteemed Premier League club Chelsea FC, Malverleys, Darts Farm, Velvet Smoke, and No.1 Park Lane. 


As part of our contract manufacturing, we are always testing new raw materials in order to create the highest quality products for our clients. The majority of brands that we manufacture for opt for cotton wicks, including Buckingham Palace. This led us to the conclusion that, if luxury natural cotton fibre wicks are fit for the King of England, then perhaps our lovely customers should get to enjoy them too!

Aren't cotton wicks dipped in paraffin?!

Many are, but not these ones! We are so passionate about our soy candles being paraffin-free that we searched high and low for a natural alternative to paraffin-dipped cotton wicks.

Our new all fibre wicks are coated in natural vegetable wax to ensure they stand proud for a perfect burn every time, without the use of harmful elements.

When can we buy them?

Our brand new cotton wick candles will be launching at the end of this month, but we wanted to announce their arrival a little early to give you the chance to stock up on wooden wicks should you so wish!

FAQs

Do I need to trim cotton wicks?

Yes, we recommend trimming all wicks (wooden or cotton) before every burn as best practice, though our new cotton fibre wicks contain specially treated fibre which completely consumes the wick. For the best burn, simply trim away the leftover wick from your previous burn, either with wick trimmers or with your fingertips.
