Celebrating International Women's Day the Home County Candle Co. way...

This year’s #InternationalWomensDay theme is an equal world is an enabled world. Whilst we both like to think we’ve got the equality bit right here at Home County Candle Co. (teamwork makes the dream work and all that..), we thought why not take the opportunity to have a chat with some of the women who help make the Home County Candle Co. tick with some quick fire questions…

Hannah - commercial director/control freak

1. What was your first job? Officially it was a Saturday job at River Island when I was 16, but less officially I remember calling my local council for a paper round when I was 10 and having to give my older sister’s name and date of birth because you had to be 11.

2. What’s your go-to snack? I’m definitely more of a savoury snacker – give me a pork pie or a cheese and onion pasty any day!

3. What’s the last book you read? I’m terrible with making time to read unless I’m on holiday, but I have been reading Jo Malone’s autobiography recently, and before that it was ‘Build a business from your kitchen table’ by the fab Sophie Cornish and Holly Tucker from notonthehighstreet. Can you sense a theme?!

4. What’s your favourite Home County Candle Co. candle scent? Ever since we released it last year it’s been The Suffolk, it’s got the darkness of Amber mingled with sweet citrus of orange and I just can’t get enough of it!

5. What’s your favourite Home County Candle Co. reed diffuser scent? My reed diffuser taste changes throughout the year so my current fave is The Essex - I love the sharpness of the Pomelo (which is like a grapefruit). It’s lovely and girly without being overpowering.
