There really is nothing quite like spring in the UK - colourful cherry blossom bursts into bloom, magnificent magnolia trees line the streets and beautiful bluebell woods fill the warm air with floral fragrance.
With April already upon us, we've rounded up our favourite spring activities in the Home Counties...
A photographer's dream during bluebell season (mid-March to mid-April), there is nothing quite as magical as a woodland walk amongst hundreds of thousands of beautiful bluebells. Our favourite Hertfordshire bluebell wood is undoubtedly the National Trust's Ashridge Estate, which is the inspiration behind our Hertfordshire products. With plenty of parking, ample picnic spots and marked-out trails for the best bluebell walks, a day at Ashridge in the spring is a must.

Easily one of the most Instagrammable spring days out you'll ever enjoy, a day at Brogdale Collections, just outside Faversham in Kent is like no other. Time your visit just right (we recommend early May but check out the blossom forecast here for weekly updates) and you'll be surrounded by trees bursting with plum, cherry, apple, pear and quince blossom. Take your time with a self-guided wander through Kent's most beautiful orchards, or book a guided tour to learn more about the National Fruit Collection (and have a taste of the fruit yourself too)!
In the spring Britain's wildflower meadows burst into life with vibrant colours, the hum of busy bumblebees and the whirr of grasshoppers. Is there any sound more nostalgic of a childhood in the countryside? One of our favourite spots for a good spring hike and a wildflower meadow picnic is Maidenhead Commons, home to Maidenhead Thicket (a great spot to see the snowdrops in early spring) and Pinkneys Green meadows, perfect for a family picnic.
